Forest Akers Named Top 50 Range 24th Consecutive Year

Forest Akers Golf Courses have been recognized as a Top 50 Public Range in the country for the 24th time in 25 years since the East range’s opening in 1996!

With Forest Akers West being founded in 1958, the courses have been providing a beautiful environment for local golf fans to enjoy for nearly 64 years. Over the decades, Forest Akers has received many renovations to better serve its visitors. The West Course went under extensive renovation in 1992 and is now ranked as a Top 30 Campus Course by Golfweek Magazine.

After the renovation of the East course from a 9-hole course to an 18-hole course in 1996, the practice facility was added. Within its first full year of operation, the practice facility was recognized as a Top 100 range in the country. From the very beginning of its operation, Forest Akers has left a lasting impression on golf fans both in the greater Lansing area and across the country for decades.

”Forest Akers Golf Courses offer the most complete facility in the Greater Lansing area, with two golf courses that golfers of various skill levels can enjoy, a practice facility, which allows guests to practice a variety of skills, and a team of expertly trained PGA Professionals to help our guests learn to enjoy the game more. Our team is proud of what we have created and are appreciative of the continued support of MSU,” said Bryan Harris, general manager of Forest Akers Golf Courses.
