Fallapalooza Invites MSU Community to Meet Important Resources at the MSU Student Services Building

A collaboration of neighborly units within the Student Services Building are teaming up and inviting the MSU community to celebrate all things Fall at Fallapalooza Thursday, Oct. 24, from 1-4 p.m.

The collaboration includes units from two departments: Student Development and Leadership (SDL) as well as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). Fallapalooza aims to make students more familiar with the important student-facing units and resources within the building, such as the Office of Spartan Experiences, the Office of Student Support and Accountability, Career Services Network, the Office of Academic and Cultural Transition, and the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center among more.

“Especially for newer students, we can’t expect them to know what they don’t know. And even if they are exposed, the array of units and services can sometimes seem overwhelming," says Lance Sharp, Office of Spartan Experiences associate director and chair of the Fallapalooza Planning Committee. “So, we’re inviting students to the spaces in a very low-risk and relaxed yet fun, celebratory atmosphere to get to know these very important resources. All these units have staffs that love to engage students and genuinely want to support.”

Whether it’s painting pumpkins, enjoying some cider and donuts, playing Bingo, or decorating a suncatcher or duck, the units are excited to have visitors. Food will be provided as well and students will be able to visit with offices to enter drawings for cozy and comfortable prizes, such as blankets, coffee mugs and other items!

The Financial Aid office and other campus partners will also be in attendance to meet and engage with students.
