2024 empowHER Leadership Retreat is a Transformative Experience

The empowHER Leadership Retreat takes place Saturday, April 20, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Breslin Student Events Center! Registration closes Wednesday, April 10. The retreat costs just $25. Register here!

This is not just an event — it’s a transformative experience! In response to the evolving social landscape and the increasing influence of social media on girls' lives, empowHER is strategically designed to combat bullying, enhance self-confidence and create a lasting sense of community.

The empowHER Leadership Retreat was created to provide fourth- through ninth-grade girls with the tools to find confidence, passion and purpose in their lives.

With support and education in our interactive workshops, empowHER girls learn to embrace their strengths and differences, build their self-confidence, and participate in service projects that demonstrate the importance of giving back to the community.

“EmpowHER is important because it provides an important message to young girls about the importance of resilience and community-building. It’s messaging like this that helps to counter the pressures girls are facing while simultaneously engaging college students and community volunteers in building a network of support,” said Dr. Heather Shae, Director of Women*s Student Services.

Donations for Scholarships

Join us in empowering the next generation of resilient, confident and successful young women

To keep the participant cost accessible at $25, empowHER relies on support from donors. The all-in cost of $170 per girl covers speakers' fees, supplies, marketing and more, maximizing the impact of the day for the girls.

Together, let's create a world where every girl knows she is not alone—where she can confidently embrace her true self, seek help when needed, and thrive within a supportive community.

Volunteer

Past volunteers have shared how fulfilling the experience is and the overwhelming sense of gratitude in being able to help potentially change the trajectory of so many young women’s lives!

Typical volunteer duties may include assisting with last minute set-up, serving as directional guides, directing girls to their table and to sessions, assistance with food prep and distribution, and serving as breakout monitors for our speakers.
